According to data provided by BUSD in 2022, the following is the make up of AAPI in BUSD

• BUSD has 9094 students

• 6.9% or 627 students identify as Asian which includes Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Pacific Islander, Cambodian, Laotian, Asian Indian, Korean, Vietnamese and Other Asian.

• Of 627 students that identify as Asian - 

  • Chinese. 24.60%, 154 students

  • Japanese 4.90%, 31 students

  • Korean 5.30%, 33 students

  • Vietnamese 6.50%, 41 students

  • Asian Indian 17.20%, 108 students

  • Laotian,  .6%, 4 students

  • Cambodian .60%, 4 students

  • Pacific Islander 1.00%, 6 students

  • Filipino 7.70%; 48 students

  • Other 31.60%; 198 students

Attendance - Overall Asians attendance rates are equal or above overall attendance rates

Graduation Rates - Asians- 100% receive standard diploma, 74% are UC/CSU eligible 2nd highest next to Other at 77% and white 72%

School Connectedness Measure over several years - Asians 62%-76% feel connected , White 61%-82%, AA 43%-72%

Caring Adult Measure - Asians 60%- 78% feel cared for by an adult, White 62%-76%.. Latin x 55%-66%

 

English Language Arts - Asians 61%-70% are proficient or above  

Math - Asians 62%-65% are proficient or above
