About Us
Who we are
Our group was formed during the Spring of 2021 in response to increasing anti-Asian harassment in Berkeley and across the nation. We are parents/caregivers, teachers and staff of Berkeley Unified School District
Mission
Our mission is to advocate for the ongoing visibility and celebration of the voices, cultures, curriculums and histories of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and the diaspora. We work in solidarity with others who share our commitment to cultivate an inclusive, anti-racist learning environment for everyone in the BUSD community.
Vision
Our vision is that every AAPI child leaves BUSD with a rooted sense of self that has been intentionally nurtured and affirmed by their school communities, BUSD staff and curriculums.
